The best mocktails in Montreal

mocktail montreal

More and more, we are noticing a trend among Quebec consumers to drink less alcohol. Whether for financial or health reasons, we commend the initiative of several restaurants for featuring mocktails—non-alcoholic versions of cocktails—on their menus. The term “mocktail” is a portmanteau derived from English, meaning “fake cocktail.” Far from just sugary sodas or sparkling water, mocktails are increasingly sought after for their bold and unique flavors. Thanks to the de-alcoholization of various spirits (such as gin, vermouth, wine, and beer), bartenders are now able to push the boundaries and create delicious drinks.

We enjoy mocktails to have a sober evening or to lighten our consumption between alcoholic drinks. It’s a great opportunity to lower the bill while still exciting our taste buds!

As a general rule, bars with an extensive cocktail menu also feature a fine selection of original mocktails. Here’s a list of places offering non-alcoholic drinks on their menus:

We’d like to give special mentions to places that offer excellent mocktails upon request:

Henrietta – All the classics are available in non-alcoholic versions!
Milky Way – One of Montreal’s most beautiful bars, where cocktails are the highlight. Ask for non-alcoholic versions.
Leonor – In the Chinatown district, this bar stands out for its cocktail menu. They’ll make delicious mocktails on request!
Les Cousins (Quartier Dix-30) – Their quirky cocktails are just as fun in a 0% version.

If you’d like to make them yourself, here are two unique recipes created by Jake Cristofaro: Répit de Cerrone and Solstice d’été.
